Sunday School Sunday School takes place every Sunday morning during the service from 10.00 to 11.00. It is run by members of the congregation and is situated upstairs in the church meeting room. The children attend the beginning of the service and then go to Sunday School after the first hymn. The youngest children are looked after in the creche, while children of 4 years and over attend lessons. The lessons are based on Church of England approved Scripture Union materials from the UK. The whole Sunday School returns to the service for the Communion so that the children can see what takes place and receive a Blessing from the Chaplain. The first Sunday of each month is a 'Children's Sunday'. On these days, there is no Sunday School, but the children take an active part in the service. They carry out tasks such as giving out hymn books, taking the collection and doing the readings and usually perform a song and/or a play related to what they have been studying in previous weeks. The children also take part in the life of the church in other ways such as being in charge of providing refreshments after the service once every two months, holding a toy sale to raise money for charity, having a special service at Christmas and a party at the end of term in June. For more information about the Sunday School, please contact the Church.
